I am a pre-medical student at Fordham University '17 with a passion for learning and teaching others. I've helped students of all ages in subjects ranging from calculus and organic chemistry, to to algebra, biology, and basic organization skills. I understand how some school work can be daunting. It can often provide students with anxiety and frustration. My job is to help students learn the subject matter so they can become more confident and independent in their schoolwork. I have found that the best way to tutor is to ask students relevant questions that will pave the way for them to find a solution, rather than doing all the work for them. Tutoring is a passion of mine and I hope you will consider me for this wonderful opportunity to learn and make progress. Thank you very much for your consideration.
What is your teaching philosophy?
The key to learning is to ask yourself why you are misunderstanding the material. Knowing what you don't know can be just as important as knowing what you do know. I like to ask a lot of questions while I'm tutoring. These are primarily asked in order to find out if there is any foundational information missing that is preventing you from learning the more difficult subjects.
