A lifelong writer and reader, I spent my undergrad years studying English at Rice University and completed an MSEd in Elementary Education at Northwestern University. Post-undergrad, I taught 3rd-5th grade language arts for four years in Chicago, where I focused on developing students’ skills of critical thinking and creativity. I’ve also tutored K-6th grade students across subjects in an after school setting, both one-on-one and in small groups. I really enjoy school and the space it provides for learning and growth, so I’m back at it again, this time in Creative Writing at Indiana University. Here, along with taking my own classes, I teach undergrad-level creative and analytical writing. I’m passionate about working with people, as well as writing, creative expression, and cross-cultural learning. These interests are definitely related to my hobbies outside of education, which include poetry, DIY projects, cooking, and eating.
