My tutoring philosophy is that learning is not a spectator sport, and I encourage my students to be actively involved from the start of our tutoring session. I also believe that positive reinforcement is a vital part of the tutoring process, as this helps cultivate an eagerness to learn.
I am a native San Diegan and recently received my BS in Microbiology from the University of California, Davis. During my undergraduate career, I mentored college-age women who were struggling with academics. As a mentor, I coached students with respect to study tactics and test-taking strategies. This experience also taught me that communication is key to the tutoring process.
I will be attending graduate school in the fall to pursue a Masters in Public Health. The college and graduate school admission processes have given me a deep familiarity with academic entrance exams. In particular, I am very familiar with the logic and reasoning of the ACT, and I am excited to share this expertise with my students.
