I am currently a student at Wayne State University as a part of the MedStart program. I will be graduating this May with a Bachelors Degree in Economics Honors and will be pursuing a Masters degree in Hospital Administration beginning this fall. My end goal is to have a career in the Health Industry as a practicing clinician and administrator. My passion for tutoring has started from my experiences being tutored as well as my experience tutoring other students. The smile and sense of pride that comes from achieving one's goals is an unparalleled feeling, and I would love to be a part of that experience with you. I hope to work with you in the near future to help you achieve your dreams and move forward in your path to success.

What is your teaching philosophy?
My philosophy is largely geared around the students themselves. I will work closely with you to focus on areas that YOU want to work on. In addition, I will offer a few bits of advice myself. I have had experience with every subject I am tutoring, so I would be more than happy to share my own stories with you as well.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
First off, you build the lesson plan! Obviously I will help guide you with techniques that I have used and some that seem to make sense based on your goals. However, no one knows you better than yourself. So I am here to make sure that we achieve as much as we can from the goals you lay out with me from day one.
How do you build a student's confidence in a subject?
When it comes to standardized tests or other exams, there is nothing to be scared about! I took these exams as well, so trust me when I say I have been in your seat. However, I got over my fear of them using a few different techniques, and I can help you do the same with several different techniques.
What types of materials do you typically use during a tutoring session?
There are hundreds of resources out there for exams and subjects, narrowing them down can be tough without other opinions. Throughout my time as a student, I have found certain books and resources that I prefer. Obviously, these vary depending on which subject I am studying. Depending on your needs, I can recommend to you which books I used and which ones would fit your study habits the best.
