Being born in Germany, and having lived there for the first 15 years of my life, I moved to North Royalton, OH in 2008. After completing high school at North Royalton High School, I attended Kent State University from 2012 to 2015, earning a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice Studies.
Throughout my educational path I have lost my German accent, however I speak German with my family on a regular basis.

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

I plan to tutor in a relatable way. Meaning that I think it is important to have a topic you can find a connection to. If something is difficult to understand, there is always a way around it, and I believe I can help in finding that way.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

During a first session I believe it is important to find out what I can help with. I am here for your help, so understanding the problem and then learning from it is my primary goal.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

If a student has a problem grasping a concept, I believe it is best to approach it in a different way and maybe relate it to something the student already understands. If this approach is still not working, sometimes it helps to simply step away from the problem and attempt it again at a later time.
