Hello! I am a full-time private tutor, specializing in areas related to history, economics, and literature. I taught English abroad before college, and I currently work with middle, high school, and university students (especially ESL students struggling to master material in my areas of expertise). I help my students prepare for AP, SAT II, and Regents exams in History, Econ and Lit, as well as exceed expectations in their coursework and improve their writing skills. I have also taught prep courses for the New York SHSAT and work with 7th and 8th graders preparing for high school.

I have a BA in Politics, Philosophy & Economics, and I've been a tutor in Manhattan for more than four years. I genuinely love guiding my students to make connections and develop a network of knowledge that will perform flexibly and enduringly. When I'm not tutoring, I'm reading philosophy and scifi and getting nerdy about music theory.

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

I love the diversity in how students think. I pride myself on finding the best way to make every session rewarding by connecting what we're studying to something you are truly enthused about, and finding an approach to the topic that best uses how you think. Whether you want better grades, a better test score, or a better holistic grasp of a subject, I want to help you get there by improving your learning skills in a way that sticks with you for your future.
