I am a high honors graduate of Ohio University located in Athens, Ohio. As an undergraduate student, I earned my Bachelors of Science in Communications from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. In addition, I also explored English and Theatre, earning minors in both. As a result of academic excellence, I had the honor of being inducted by The Golden Key International Society as an official member.
My experience tutoring covers a wide range as it relates to the spectrum of age. I've assisted children on an elementary level, specifically in the subjects of Math, English, Writing, Reading and Test Preparation. During that time, I also joined a mentoring/tutoring program called the Kick-Off-Mentor Program by way of my school. Participating in this program gave me the opportunity to tutor and mentor high school age students in a variety of subject areas (Math, Reading, Writing, English, Health and Physical Education). As a college student, I tutored students in Editing (essays and reports). Also, I worked as the writer and editor for the Ohio University Alumni Association.
The opportunity to further enhance my tutoring abilities came when I was hired to work in the Community Affairs Department at the ABC-affliate station in Cincinnati, Ohio. On a weekly basis, I would work with students from the tri-state area by assisting each individual with his or her schoolwork. Following the completion of schoolwork sessions, I would give presentations on the tools of Professionalism and Public Speaking.
Since graduation, I've obtained positions in writing, editing and public affairs. One of these include writing and editing (amongst many other duties) for Canada's award show, The Glass Achievement Awards.
I am most passionate about tutoring English, Writing, Reading, Editing, Study Skills and Test Preparation. I am a strong believer that every student has the ability to succeed. A positive attitude, dedication and a commitment to improvement is the formula for success. I consider it a privilege to take the lead in helping a student reach his or her full potential. The greatest reward is to see the manifestation of results. I'll leave you with this --- Sometimes you have to follow the leader to become one. Follow me, I'd love to help you become a leading pillar of success!
