Ashwini

I am currently a student at the University of Kansas working towards gaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral Neuroscience as well as a minor in Spanish. I am involved in a variety of research in the applied behavioral science field on campus, and with the rest of my time, I like to volunteer. I am also in the process of becoming an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant in Physics. I get the opportunity to tutor some of my friends and classmates in the classes we are enrolled in together as well as those I have already taken. I enjoy being in school and I want other students to feel the same way.

For me, tutoring is important because it can help students feel like they finally understand a concept they have been struggling with for a while. Getting to see when a student has a “light bulb” moment is the most rewarding part. With just a little bit of individual attention, learning can become fun and interesting. Through positive encouragement, I want to instill critical thinking skills which will be useful for current classes and beyond.
