I am a graduate of The Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, where I received both a Doctorate and a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology. I attended DePaul University as an undergraduate, where I received DePaul's Presidential Scholarship Award and graduated With High Honors, earning my B.A. in Sociology.
I have four years of experience providing one-on-one tutoring to high school students and four years of clinical training in university counseling. I believe that people are basically hard-wired for learning and that successful tutoring should be a fun, interactive, and growth promoting experience. I find that making knowledge relevant and exciting fosters a more natural understanding of material and I respect that people learn in a variety of ways. I offer a safe, flexible, cooperative environment to my students, helping them acquire both new academic skills and increased confidence in their abilities. I love engaging students in learning concepts that once bored or intimidated them and look forward to helping students become more creative, engaged, and skilled students and thinkers.
