I love math and I love science. Math and science are two areas of study that I take pride in knowing. They are the study of the world around us and how it works to the most minute detail. That fascinates me. So much so that I achieved a Bachelor of Science Degree in chemistry. It is my goal to put this same kind of passion, drive and excitement in all those around me. I hope that I will one day nerd out on math and science with all my students!
What is your teaching philosophy?
Learning is awesome, and the process of learning should be just as awesome. Education should not be a burden but a joy. I teach with awesomeness and joy.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I would start by laying down a foundation for a healthy relationship with the student. The better the relationship, the better the learning process will be.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
By helping and encouraging them to think critically and become a better problem solver.
