What is your teaching philosophy?
I like to break things down to their fundamentals and learn from the bottom up, so that it's easier to see how all the pieces of a topic fit together. A ten page paper might seem intimidating until you break it down into a list of bullet points and ideas. Each person learns in their own way, so it's often very hard to find another person's wavelength right off the bat, but if you just begin by introducing the most basic pieces, the student can show you how they see them fitting together. I think that's very important for a more intuitive and thorough understanding of any subject.
