I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Spanish and Latin American Studies because it combined my love for history, literature, and culture with the Spanish Language. This means that I am able to help you in any area of your language journey - desde los pequeñuelos hasta los adultos - from the young beginners to the adults who have an interest in Spanish language and Culture.

I know learning a language takes time and effort, and I am ready to do my part to help you advance as far as you want. To do that, we will go over tricks and tips for studying and memorization and tailor the sessions to your individual learning style and level.

In addition to my passion for all things Hispanic, I love learning new things and seeing new places. I have had the opportunity to travel to Italy, Mexico, Spain, France and the Caribbean and to take on jobs that have pushed me to do things I might never have otherwise tried - including spelunking, white water rafting and canoeing. My adventures have taught me that you never quite know what you are capable of until you push yourself to do new things.

I look forward to joining you on your Spanish adventure.

What is your teaching philosophy?

I believe that every student can learn and excel. As a teacher, you just have to be patient and pay attention to each person's learning style and skill set.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

Aside from introductions, I like to find out what the student wants to get out of the session and how they learn best.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

The goal in tutoring is to teach study skills as well as your subject matter and encourage independent practice. Sharing your own love for the subject also helps to motivate and awaken interest in the lesson.
