I am a certified Language Arts teacher in the state of Georgia. I have a degree from London, UK in Psychology (I am British!) and a Master's degree in Education with English endorsement from Jones International. I have taught in public and private schools but love to teach one on one. My favorite subjects at school were always writing and literature and I love to share this passion with my students. By treating each student as an individual with their own thoughts, ideas and talents, I make tutoring a fun and rewarding enterprise. I believe that we all have an inner writer struggling to escape and it is my job to find, nurture and challenge that writer!

When not tutoring you might find me writing fiction and perhaps drinking a cup of tea, or hiking in one of the local parks, or even relaxing in tree pose! I also enjoy singing and acting and most recently have performed as Mrs. Cratchit at the Rose of Athens Theater. When I find the time and money I love to travel, both in the US and abroad.

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

My teaching philosophy is that every student will find a book that speaks to them and that this book will open wonderful educational doors. In the words of Dr. Seuss; "The more that you read, the more things you will know, the more that you learn, the more places you'll go."

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

In a typical first session with a student, I would take the time to get to know the student as well as the time to get to know and understand their educational goals.
