I recently graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Biology and have received multiple honors including Phi Beta Kappa Honors, Campuswide Honors Program, and Dean's Honors list. Throughout my experiences as a college graduate and an aspiring physician, I have developed a strong work ethic and a great desire to help others. Besides medicine, I have a strong passion for learning and passing on what I learn which is why I have enjoyed being a Learning and Academic Resource Center Tutor at UCI for over a year. I have tutored a variety of courses including Organic Chemistry and Calculus, and have tutored varying students with different learning aptitudes and backgrounds which have helped me develop into an intuitive, innovative, and flexible tutor. I believe that each student learns differently, and it is important to identify what works best for each individual. In terms of teaching, I am a strong advocate of efficacy, efficiency, and establishing a strong foundation of the concepts. To me, one of the best feelings in the world is to have my student not only understand the basic concepts beyond memorization, but also critically analyze more complicated problems and apply the concepts he or she has learned. Ultimately, my goal as a tutor is to help the students not only perform better in a particular subject, but also help them develop a strong and effective study habit that will help them become a strong independent learner.
