What is your teaching philosophy?

My teaching philosophy is based on perseverance. Students should aim to learn from mistakes continuously in order to overcome any weakness.

Introductions and finding out strengths and weaknesses in a particular subject matter.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

By helping students discover their future goals, it will be much easier to help them to understand how their own education will get them there.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

By discovering a student's reasons for learning. The student can always be reminded of the ultimate goal ahead.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

We will persevere and try together to discover any possible method to help make learning the skill easier for the student.

How do you help students who are struggling with reading comprehension?

We will break the reading into parts. We will them attempt to comprehend each part and then bring it all together.

What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?

By first finding a student's strengths and weaknesses, we can discover more readily what areas we must work on.

How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?

Explain to them how important the particular subject is to their future.

We would use quizzes and other assessments. It will be imperative that the student be able to create questions of their own regarding the subject.

Repeated successes and evident mastery.

By using an assessment.

The focus on tutoring will be equivalent to strengthening the weaknesses and brushing up on the strengths.
