My outgoing and positive personality, years of teaching/tutoring experience, and excellent problem solving skills make me a great tutor. I love mathematics and chemistry, and I delight in sharing the joy of discovery with my students! I believe that learning should be interesting and fun, and I do my best to make sure my students stay engaged and enjoy their work. I have been involved in teaching in some way, shape, or form since I graduated from William & Mary in 1977. I have taught classes varying in size from 1 to over 200, and my students have ranged from 8th graders taking Pre-Algebra to medical school faculty members in a public health data analysis course. I have pretty much seen/done it all and have a wealth of experience from which to draw. Tutoring is in many ways even more rewarding than classroom teaching because of the one-on-one nature of the instruction and the need to improvise explanations to ensure that the student "gets it."
