I am a graduate student at The Ohio State University studying in the Chemical Engineering department. I am currently pursuing my MS degree, after the completion of which I plan to pursue my PhD. After my formal education I hope to become a professor at a college or university. There I can combine my passions for teaching and learning.
Over the years I have become keenly aware of the impact a great teacher can have on his students. Two such teachers in my own life are my high school chemistry teacher and one of my chemical engineering professors. With contagious enthusiasm and passion, my high school chemistry teacher made chemistry come alive. Ultimately I caught his bug, and this set into motion my decision to choose the path of chemical engineering. My chemical engineering professor, in swift, successive blows, knocked down many of the barriers I had to understand a number of complex mathematical ideas. Simply put, what was once was hazy and blurred became crystal clear. It is my sincere hope that I can give to my students what these two men have given me.
My hobbies include reading (some fiction but mostly non-fiction - history, philosophy, science), some sports (OSU football, baseball, hockey, and soccer), playing disc golf, a computer game called League of Legends (which I mostly watch now instead of play), and camping (I was in the boy scouts for many years).
