I graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor's Degree in English. I then lived in Hawaii for a few years before going to graduate school at Northeastern Illinois University, where I received my Master's in Teaching. I have taught in Chicago, the suburbs of Chicago, and Las Vegas. I have worked with students of all skill levels and also have an ESL endorsement. I was a teacher for over ten years and taught everything from 8th to 12th grade English Literature, grammar, and writing. In addition, I have extensive experience with the Reading and English portions of the ACT. I am passionate about working with students and truly enjoy seeing them excel and learn. Currently, I work as an Independent Educational Consultant helping students with the college application process. My other passion besides teaching and working with students is working with dogs. I am on the board of a dog rescue, so I spend a lot of time finding loving homes for homeless dogs. I have two dogs of my own, and they keep me busy as well.
