I tutor because I believe that academic subjects don't need to be a source of stress for students. The classroom experience does not work for everyone, and it is imperative that students be given the focus they deserve so that they may live up to their potential and pursue their dreams. As a graduate from the Colorado School of Mines with a degree in Chemical Engineering, I know how important it is to develop efficient and effective study methods. Through tutoring I hope to spread my love of Science and the arts to my students, and impart on them the skills I have learned throughout my academic career.
Ever since my early days at Silver Creek High School I have felt the need to teach others. Back then I applied my skills tutoring to elementary students through a well known Mathematics and Science program. After high school I pursued my education at the Colorado School of Mines where I received a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Economics. During that time I was employed by the school as a teaching assistant for such courses as Thermodynamics, Reaction Engineering, and Transport Phenomena. Upon graduation I was awarded the Pearson Potential Award for Engineering aptitude.
Throughout my academic career, I have seen subjects come and go, but the fundamental study methods have stayed the same. By passing these tricks and methods onto my students, I hope to unlock their potential so they can be A+ in everything they do.
