I am currently studying for my GMATs and will be applying for business schools this fall. While I love delving into my own studies, I also greatly miss working with children and am inspired by their natural curiosity. I always most enjoyed working with small groups and individuals in my classes, whether it was to help them in their areas of struggle or to challenge them to achieve more. I have earned my bachelors from New School University in NYC and my permanent Multiple Subjects Teaching credential from San Francisco State University. I have spent the last 7 years teaching kindergarten in private schools in Northern California. During this time I also deepened my teaching practice by attending many professional development opportunities.
I believe that all children have the ability and desire to learn and succeed. I strive to know students as individuals and most importantly to understand what makes them tick. I think that making students smile and letting them know you truly care is the first step to helping them achieve their academic goals. I am very passionate about early literacy and helping children grow into life long readers. Not surprisingly, one of my favorite things to do is read anything I can get my hands on. When I am not reading, studying and trying to adapt to the Colorado winter, I also enjoy walking my dog and exploring all that Denver has to offer.
