I received my BA from Smith College in 2011 and my Master of Fine Arts degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in May. I have worked as a tutor for the past five years and recently began my career as a college instructor. When I am not teaching, I co-direct an art gallery in the Ukrainian Village and work as a printmaker in my studio.
Though I tutor a range of subjects, I am most passionate about helping students hone their reading and writing skills. I believe that effective written communication is essential in any career field and have developed a number of techniques that help even the most frustrated students become clear and confident writers. When it comes to standardized test preparation, I believe that strategy is key. My students learn to anticipate the types of questions they will encounter on test day and come prepared with a tailored method for approaching each type. My teaching style centers on building confidence and fostering a true love of learning.
