I love teaching and can not be more excited to be helping people learn. I love sports and I love to teach. Therefore, I like to think that my student and I are on a team, The Varsity Squad! I strive to learn something new everyday and to constantly develop as an individual. I believe that one-on-one teaching can be advantageous for students because the teaching is centered around them! I believe that everyone learns differently and a good teacher must be able to teach accordingly, which is what I will do my very best to do. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to teach.

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

One-on-one instruction is the way to go. A personalized education ensures that the student will retain the most information and come out of a lesson with a better understanding of the material.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

Get to know the student and the topic that they are struggling with. We would break down the topic and attack the subject on a one step at a time basis. We would make a plan and some goals to achieve by the end of our time together.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

"Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man how to fish and feed him for a lifetime." If a student receives the tools and techniques for self-sufficient studying, they will gain a sense of accomplishment that soon begins to fuel itself.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

Showing a student long-term goals and what they can achieve is the best motivation. After they see what they can achieve, they merely need to be taught the techniques that will help them to capture those goals.
