Gabrielle

I am a graduate of UCLA with a Bachelor’s of Science in both biochemistry and microbiology. My goal for the future is to eventually obtain a Doctor of Medicine degree and become a physician. Ever since the latter part of high school and mainly in college, I have been tutoring at different age levels. This includes, but not exclusive to, 5th graders needing help in geography, middle schoolers struggling in algebra, high schoolers needing help in physics, or premedical students in their approach for the MCAT. I mainly tutor math, ranging from elementary math to calculus, and the sciences. I have always enjoyed helping tutoring in math and chemistry, as I am able to help the students realize the importance of understanding the concepts in order to answer any problem. Also, it is always fun to be able to reach the correct answer after a few lines of work! In order to teach the concepts, I believe in teaching to simplify the idea. In this manner, the student is able to rationalize the theory on their own, allowing them to apply it in any manner. In addition to teaching them the subject, I always hope that my patient attitude and positive outlook helps them realize the fun in learning and make them strive to discover their own study habits. When I have time, I always enjoy watching movies or reading a classical novel. However, I truly enjoy sports, particularly basketball, football, and baseball, as they are the best way to unwind and participate in some friendly competition.
