I am a Baylor University graduate with a Bachelor's of Arts in Religion with a Minor in Child and Family Studies. I spent the past year after college working with AmeriCorps (a domestic version of the PeaceCorps) for Communities in Schools of Central Texas mentoring and tutoring troubled and impoverished middle school students. I received my teaching certification in Generalist 4th-8th grade and enjoy working with children of all ages. I love teaching English and Math, mainly because I am a logical person and Math and English are both very straightforward and logical. My preferred tutoring style is one-on-one because I enjoy creating a relationship with my students to be able to thoroughly help them. I am a very energetic, bubbly, charismatic person who has dedicated her life to helping children, both through teaching and counseling. However, outside of tutoring, I love the outdoors (playing sand volleyball, kayaking on Lake Austin, etc.) and have a big passion for electronic music (both listening to it and creating it). Working for Varsity Tutors is helping me pursue my Master's Degree in Social Work next year. I would love to tutor your child and help him or her succeed in school and in life!
