I am a graduate of The University of Rhode Island. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Secondary Education with middle level endorsement. Upon graduation I was offered a position with Procter and Gamble(Gillette) in Massachusetts where I worked in a microbiology laboratory and taught my co-workers off all ages and backgrounds about microbiology relevant to their roles. Throughout this time and still currently I volunteered with our church youth group as a youth leader, where I worked to challenge girls to step up beyond themselves and grow as role models. Sometimes though, I would end up helping them with their biology homework too!
My favorite subject to tutor would be microbiology since the field is so diverse and constantly changing, and not all bacteria are "bad"! I also enjoy teaching the botanical branch of biology, and gardening is a hobby of mine.
I am a strong believer in the power of reading and that learning is a lifelong journey which doesn’t end at graduation.
In my free time I enjoy working with my church’s youth group, spending time with my husband and toddler, gardening, board games, reading, hiking, botany, cooking, and I love animals of all shapes and sizes.
