I attended the University of Notre Dame where I received my Masters Degree in elementary education. During my teaching career, I have taught fourth and fifth grade for seven years, and I have worked extensively with students that have special learning needs such as ADHD and Asperger's Syndrome. With that in mind, I love teaching every subject, and I believe that all students can be successful in the right environment. Along with this, education should be something that can be seen as exciting and fun, and I love encouraging students to realize this so that learning can become a lifelong endeavor. This is something that I encourage daily with my current fourth grade students, and it is amazing to watch these students go from struggling learners to wildly successful students given the right influences and opportunities to succeed. I am very often able to make wonderful connections with my students by taking the time to learn about them as individuals and making connections with them through their interests. I, personally, am a big sports fan, but I also enjoy the outdoors, reading, working out, nutrition, and getting to learn about new things that my students love.
