I am a graduate of Concordia College (Moorhead, MN) and Bowling Green State University (Bowling Green, OH). My BA is in French Education and my MA is in French, with a focus on linguistics/second language acquisition. I also have a K-12 teaching credential in French (MN). I have been tutoring since I was 16, and have experience in a wide variety of subjects, especially French, English grammar, reading comprehension, and ACT prep (for which I am Kaplan-trained). I have also been a classroom teacher, teaching French, ESL, and AP English.
I love to travel and have frequently integrated that into my career as an educator: I worked as an ESL teacher at a language magnet school in China, tutored English while spending the first year of my MA studying in France, and developed French curriculum materials as part of a Fulbright visit to Cameroon. I have always been an enthusiastic learner, and my work with students has demonstrated the life-changing power of education. I try to share my excitement for learning and the value of education with all of my students. In my free time, you can find me reading, cooking, at a choir or dance rehearsal, or planning my next international adventure!
