I became interested in Organic Chemistry because I wanted to understand how molecules were assembled. One first learns the basic properties of an atom and how they can be manipulated into compounds that can then be used to understand therapeutic targets. After receiving my BS in Environmental Science and Chemistry at Rutgers University in New Jersey, I began a career path that allowed me to explore the world of chemistry. Environmental bench testing, precious metals analysis, organometallic synthesis and medicinal chemistry. After a few years of professional experience, I attended Colorado State University where I obtained my PhD in natural product synthesis. While at CSU, I had the opportunity to teach various chemistry labs and study sessions and this opened my eyes to teaching and tutoring. I enjoy witnessing that "Ah ha!" moment when a student understands the material, and that begins with understanding a students needs in order to provide the best explanation of Organic Chemistry in an entertaining and relative way.
