I began my education at Saddleback College in southern Orange County. I transferred to Trinity Christian College to study abroad in Seville, Spain, for a semester. There I lived with a Spanish family and made many new Spanish friends who helped me improve my Spanish-speaking ability. On returning from Spain, I attended Golden West College where I tutored students in Spanish, completed my general education requirements and AA degree. I then transferred to California State University, Long Beach, where I began my BA in Spanish. After a year of studying there, I attended a yearlong study-abroad program with the University of Madrid, Spain. On returning, I had completed my BA in Spanish and worked towards my English-as-a-second-language (ESL) Certificate at Cal State, Long Beach. I then pursued an MA in Linguistics, and upon completion of this degree, I transferred from Cal State, Long Beach, to UCLA. At UCLA, I worked towards coursework to teach at the Elementary School level where I have over fifteen years of experience. I am also qualified to teach college-level ESL. I tutor ESL and Spanish with Varsity Tutors. I enjoy both these subjects as I love both grammar and speaking. I believe we are all lifelong learners and have much to gain by communicating with each other. I also enjoy learning other languages, technology, traveling, home-improvement projects, entertaining, cooking, walking, weight-lifting, etc.
