I graduated from University of California, Berkeley as a Cognitive Science and Psychology double major along with an emphasis in computational modeling. I am a patient and helpful tutor with experience teaching students struggling with the math portion of the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE). As a tutor, I believe in a holistic teaching approach. I will tailor my method of teaching according to the needs of my students. My goal is not only to help my students learn the concepts, but also to teach them how to study effectively and maximize their learning potential.
With an interdisciplinary education, I am well-versed in a large variety of subjects. My area of expertise includes but is not limited to: math, computer science, psychology, and Mandarin. As a psychology major, I am knowledgeable and well-read on the subject matter. My experience tutoring with middle school and high school students in math have kept me on my toes in Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus. Through computer science courses and a myriad of programming projects, I know the ins and outs of programming in C++ and Java. Lastly, as a native Mandarin speaker from China and a hobbyist translator, I am also fully qualified to teach how to read, write, and speak Mandarin.
In my spare time, I work on various personal projects such as digital painting, graphic design, blogging, and reading. I am also a fan of puzzle games and brain teasers.
