The universe is an awesome place. As a tutor, I want to help students develop the knowledge and tools not only to succeed in their studies, but to allow them to find out about whatever parts of our universe they find exciting. My own studies in Physics and Mechanical Engineering at Northern Arizona University allowed me to experience many ways of investigating our surroundings, from controlling the 6.5 meter Multiple Mirror Telescope to stimulating cell activity using electricity. I also worked as a teaching assistant, giving instruction and homework help to students in introductory physics classes. Now that I have graduated with undergraduate degrees in both of these areas, I want to help other students find great opportunities of their own. I know firsthand that getting great opportunities takes hard work and dedication and can often be overwhelming. This is especially true of Math and Physics, and why I focus on breaking things down and making them easy to understand. I also hope to make things interesting by bringing knowledge outside of the classroom and talking about how it is used by people every day - especially in my hobbies of rock climbing and mountain biking.
