I am in the process of completing my degree in Biochemistry at Washington University in St. Louis, along with minors in mathematics and biomedical physics. I am taking a semester off in order to expand my interests before my last year as an undergraduate. I have been tutoring for several years now, ranging from grade school aged children at local elementary schools (in both the greater Boston area as well as in St. Louis) to volunteering at a school for autistic young adults. My favorite subjects to tutor are math and science, since they are the two subjects I have been passionate about my whole life. I am, however, also comfortable with many other subjects, including french and writing skills. Additionally, I really enjoy helping students prep for standardized testing, particularly the SATs. My tutoring style tends to be a combination of challenging the student to work hard on their skills, along with plenty of encouragement. My goal is to show students how much they can do on their own, even when they feel it is a subject that they are "bad at", by working together to solidify their understanding of the subject and teach them helpful skills and tricks. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy yoga, running, cooking, and reading!
