I recently graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a B.S in Molecular, Cell & Developmental Biology, and am in the process of applying to medical schools. Through my own quest to find good study habits, I learned that there is no single "correct" way to learn. Everyone can learn differently, and my approach to tutoring reflects the wide variety of individuals that I have had the opportunity to tutor or study with. I pride myself on being especially encouraging, and I think this helps to build confidence in my students, which translates into long-lasting success. My favorite subjects to tutor are Chemistry, Biology, and Algebra, and while each hold a very special place in my heart, I most enjoy tutoring math because I love helping people understand that math is nothing to be afraid of! When presented in the correct way, anyone can be good at math! In my free time, I love playing and coaching basketball, going on hikes, reading, and playing guitar.
