I am a graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and in Secondary Education-Spanish K-12. After working several years as a Spanish teacher I returned to the University of Missouri-Kansas City to finish my Master of Arts degree in Romance Languages, Literature and Spanish. I also worked on the education hours needed to receive my certification as an English as a Second Language teacher. I am certified by the state of Missouri to teach Spanish K-12 and ESL (English as a Second Language)K-12. I have experience teaching Spanish grades 6-12, ELL/ESL grades K-12 and have experience teaching college level Spanish. While working on my undergrad degree in Spanish I moved to Xalapa, Veracruz Mexico to live so that I could immerse myself in the culture and the language. After returning to the United States I finished my degree but because of the friendships I made I continue to return to Mexico as often as possible. I enjoy tutoring English grammar, Reading, Phonics and Writing but my passion is Spanish. I love the Spanish language and love sharing what I know about the language and the people who speak Spanish. I love to travel so Spanish opened the door for me to visit other places where Spanish is spoken. Reading is another passion of mine, like Spanish it opens doors to other worlds I would never be able to see. In my spare time I like to sew, spend time with my family and exercise.
