I graduated from UC Berkeley in 2011 with a major in Economics and Spanish and have since moved to Los Angeles for my current job in Finance. I grew up in Beijing China and I do speak, read and write in Mandarin Chinese. While I tutor a variety of subjects, math and languages are easily my favorites and they are like second nature to me. I worked at an after-school program all throughout college helping different students in K-12 with a variety of needs. Every student is unique and different in their own way and I’ve definitely learned to work with each student using the specific method that works the best with them. I believe the key to succeeding in anything we do is joy; once that joy is developed, it will be hard to say what we can’t accomplish. In addition to helping students discover the fun in each subject matter, I strive to instill confidence in them so they learn to believe they truly can accomplish whatever it is they set their mind to do. In my free time, I like to read to kids, go hiking with friends, and spend an afternoon at a coffee shop reading a good book.
