I am currently transitioning between graduate studies in clinical immunology and microbiology into my last two years of medical school. My experiences working with students, ranging from the high school to professional school levels, has made me a strong advocate of continued learning and education. Throughout my scientific career I have maintained a clear effort to be involved in teaching and tutoring both inside and outside of the traditional classroom setting.

I have a strong academic foundation and considerable skills to offer students. I hold a B.S. in Biology from Cornell University and attended the George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services. I am also currently pursuing both a graduate degree in Microbiology and a professional degree in medicine. As per my background I am highly qualified to teach the academic subjects of Biology, Microbiology, Physiology, Statistics, and Biostatistics. I have scored highly on AP aptitude exams for World History and Environmental Science in addition to having successfully tutored students in the subjects of Algebra, Calculus BC, and Chemistry.

My teaching philosophy is based on my ability to intellectually and personally connect with students. Establishing such rapport facilitates the understanding and communication necessary to effectively transfer knowledge between two individuals. Rapport also solidifies the student and me in working together towards a common goal – their learning. This philosophy has served me well in tutoring individuals in the Children’s Hope Foundation, Women in Science and Engineering, and Lexicon Academics at the high school and college levels respectively. It has, furthermore, been an effective tool during group learning as demonstrated by my efforts as a medical school Journal Club facilitator and lecturer for the AOA Youth Scholars Program for academically exceptional underrepresented high school students.

Thank you for your consideration! I trust that together we’ll be able to reach higher levels of academic success and achievement!
