MY PERSONAL STATEMENT
I was born and raised in central Pennsylvania before coming to Chapman University in southern California. I started teaching violin privately out of my home in high school, which inspired my love of teaching and drove me to become a tutor for my university. While I love math and the sciences, I also have a passion for music, which I'm also currently pursuing at the conservatory level.
My tutoring style is very student-based, where I pay close attention to what concepts they are most struggling with and break down complex ideas into more manageable chunks. Also, I believe the SAT tests more critical reading than any other skill, and Iencourage students to be very detail-oriented about what the question is actually asking. Through tutoring at Chapman, I am used to students coming to me because they are having trouble with a subject, or just because they want to stay on track and excel. Through my experience teaching violin, I am comfortable with students of all ages.
