MY PERSONAL STATEMENT
I am a graduate from the University of California, Santa Barbara with my Bachelor of Science in Biology. I am a San Diego native, to where I have now returned (since college graduation) to enjoy my family, friends, and the sun! Growing up, I tutored at many of the local schools in San Diego where I grew to love teaching both peers and younger students in my favorite subjects - science and math. Classes I feel strongest tutoring (and that I took myself in middle and high school) include AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Calculus, Honors Pre-Calculus, Honors Geometry, Honors Algebra 1 & 2 and Honors Physics. While I hope to teach throughout my adult career, I am also applying to medical school this year. A tutor I once had told me that I had the determination and intelligence to become a doctor, and his words have stayed with me through today. If I can similarly inspire my own students, hopefully they will pursue their own dreams as a result of their academic confidence.
