I am currently working as a mechanical engineer for the R&D department of Tessera, a company specializing in miniaturization technology. I graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Caltech over a year ago. I specialize in tutoring math, science (primarily physics), and all sections of SAT prep. I can cover all levels of math, from algebra to college-level calculus. I have many years of experience tutoring math and science for tutoring companies and as a freelance tutor for grades 6th to 12th. I did SAT and ACT prep as well as subject tutoring. I have also done volunteer tutoring for kids from underprivileged backgrounds. In short, I love to tutor.

When I tutor, my personal teaching philosophy is to make sure that my students learn by intuition and logic rather than memorization. My goal is to help my students succeed in their future educational career, and this is the reason for my teaching philosophy. Once an individual gets to college, he or she will have to work on developing their critical thinking skills more than anything. After college, many employers and prestigious companies place a huge importance on critical thinking skills in their potential candidates. These skills are a necessary pre-requisite to teach new hires how to use sophisticated techniques, methods, and technologies. By helping my students to develop these "thinking" skills, skills which are sometimes neglected in conventional high school education, I help them to get a head start over the competition.

In my spare time I love to enjoy the outdoors. I like going on hikes, and I have been looking into getting into rock climbing again (I did some rock climbing in college). I also love to paintball because it is a game based equally on physical fitness, mental acuity, daring, and team work (it's kind of like a live-action version of chess where you are also one of the pieces). When I feel like staying at home, I like to read fiction or history, or to play strategy-based games with my friends.

I look forward to tutoring you!
