MY PERSONAL STATEMENT
I recently returned to Chicago after teaching English in southern Spain for two years. I worked in a bilingual junior high school through the Spanish Ministry of Education's language and cultural assistant grant program. During my free time, I also gave private English lessons to teens and adults. Without a doubt, this experience taught me a lot about teaching, both one-on-one and in the classroom. I also perfected my Spanish skills and passed the Instituto de Cervantes Diplomado de Español como Lengua Extranjera C1 proficiency exam in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Overall, it was my best life experience to date, and I am excited to share both my knowledge of Spanish and of Spain with my future students!
