I've been teaching and tutoring students of all ages in Latin, the Classics, and other subjects since I graduated from Harvard in 2004. During that time I've spent many years teaching Latin, English, and Ancient Greek at independent schools in New York and California and four years doing graduate work in the Classics at USC, three of which were spent teaching Latin and Ancient Greek to undergraduates while enrolled. While I can teach other subjects, the majority of my work comes in Latin and other Classical areas, and I've made it sort of a life's mission of mine to instill the same enthusiasm in my students about the ancient world as I have. I firmly believe that learning Latin is as valuable for one's development as a student and a scholar as Math or English Literature. I also understand that learning it, especially at the introductory levels, can occasionally be rather intimidating. I try to make myself as relaxed, fun, and seemingly approachable while I am teaching/tutoring as I can to lessen the intimidation factor of that crazy dead language we're learning. Although I grew up in Boston, I moved to Los Angeles in 2006 to enroll at USC and (in large part due to the weather) have never left. At the moment I spend most of my time as a full-time high school Latin and Ancient Greek teacher at a private school in Los Angeles, but in my free time I am an avid music collector and occasional musician (drummer). I also love finding under-the-radar films to watch and new restaurants to try.
