MY PERSONAL STATEMENT
I just completed graduate school at UC Los Angeles with a Master of Fine Arts in Screenwriting from the prestigious Theater, Film, and Television program. I received my BA in politics from UC Santa Cruz. I hail from Iowa City, Iowa, but have spent the last decade in California and abroad. During my travels, I lived in South Korea and China, teaching and tutoring a wide variety of subjects to a wide range of students(ages 5 to 50, all skill levels) with a particular emphasis on SSAT/ HSPT/ ISEE/ ACT / SAT prep, college essay writing, and reading comprehension and analysis. I have a great deal of work experience -- from producing commercials, to handling public relations in the US Senate, to writing advertising -- but most of my experience and my passion is teaching. I am also a published author and dramatic writing teacher. In my free time, I love to write, surf, ski, practice martial arts, and analyze film and TV.
