MY PERSONAL STATEMENT
I recently finished serving the greatest year of my life in the organization AmeriCorps. I served in a branch called City Year where I tutored middle school students before and after school. During the day my partner teacher and I shared responsibility for teaching the class.
Prior to City Year I graduated from Rutgers University with honors. My degree is in History/American Studies; however, I also love math! While in college, I was a part of a "Big Buddy" as well as "Future Scholars" program. These programs allowed me to mentor and tutor in both elementary and high schools.
My experience has enabled me to gather a vast amount of intervention strategies that will surely help students of all ages. I have a style in which I can engage students and make learning fun! In my free time I enjoy playing music, hiking, reading, and theater. Thank you and I hope to speak soon!
