MY PERSONAL STATEMENT
I'm from Memphis, and I graduated from the University of Chicago in 2009 with a major in English and minor in math. I've been tutoring for five years, and have helped students with math, reading comprehension, writing, grammar, test prep, and general homework help. The majority of my experience has been in middle school math (fractions!), but I've loved all the subjects I've tutored. I try to create a comfortable and enjoyable environment for learning and am really flexible for different learning styles.
I was a camp counselor for six summers where I taught puppet making, stained glass, and beginner banjo. I've also worked at summer math camp and children's museums (in Pasadena and NYC). I love being outside, doodling, playing music, square dancing, and working with kids.
