I currently work as a math teacher in Brooklyn and would love the opportunity to work with you to help you to not only achieve your immediate goals (passing a class, test, etc), but also foster a deeper understanding of the subject matter that will help you into the future.

I'm certified to teach grades 7-12 which means I possess a mastery of pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, algebra II, pre-calculus, trigonometry, statistics and AP AB and BC Calculus. The liberal arts curriculum I took at Stanford University has ensured that I not only can tutor students in technical fields but also humanities. I'm a voracious reader, especially of historical non-fiction, so I would especially enjoy tutoring for history and English in addition to mathematics.

I am a savvy test taker and would be able to teach your child not only the content necessary to excel at the SAT and other standardized tests, but also how to utilize strategies to maximize efficiency and accuracy.

In teaching, I enjoy connecting the subject matter to topics that would not necessarily seem relevant to the lesson in order to engage the student on a deeper level. I assess a student's strengths, weaknesses, and interests in order to best make the lesson come alive and ensure that the skills and knowledge learned are most easily learned and also nurture critical thinking that would contribute positively to success in other subjects outside of tutoring.
