I am an experienced teacher of 8 years. I went to Texas Tech University for a bachelor of science in clinical exercise physiology. Following Tech, I started a career as an exercise physiologist in a cardiac, pulmonary, and cancer rehabilitation unit in Lubbock, Texas. Following my wife's graduation, we moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Shortly after moving, I realized that my real passion is teaching science and math. Following that realization, I became a teacher, and now a tutor.

As a teacher and a tutor, my greatest strength is breaking down complex ideas into manageable pieces of information and then transforming those pieces into deep understandings of the content material. In addition, I love seeing my students learn. I experience some of my greatest pleasure when I have been working with a struggling student and I see their eyes fill with understanding for the first time. I am a true life-long learner and I find that many times I learn as much as my students during the times that I spend with them. It is my hope that I can help them to develop questioning techniques and skills that will promote a similar lifetime love of learning in them.

On a more personal note, my hobbies are trampolines, outdoor activities, and spending time with my family. I was a gymnast as a young man, and I competed on the US national trampoline team. Building model siege engines, also called pumpkin-chunking, is another nerdy passion of mine.
