MY PERSONAL STATEMENT
I've been tutoring ACT/SAT Test prep for four years. I've found that the best way to tutor the ACT is by using actual old tests and identifying the question types that each student has difficulty with and zoning in on those to facilitate improvement. I also make sure that my students understand how the test works. If you know how to take charge of a standardized test, you'll be able to achieve even higher goals than you thought you could.
I also tutor Algebra 1. With four years of tutoring experience under my belt (as well as my own years in those classes!) I'm ready, willing, and able to tackle anything your teacher throws your way.
In high school, I was already geared towards being an Art Major. Math and testing were totally not interests of mine. I majored in Photography at ISU and somewhere working in a darkroom I discovered I was good at Math. It was never, ever a favorite of mine in school so I totally understand being totally lost and confused in class. Because I've been there, I know the best ways to get from confused and disillusioned to understanding.
