MY PERSONAL STATEMENT
Hello! My name is Hannah, and I am in the process of pursuing a graduate degree in Women and Gender Studies. Previously I worked as a high school math teacher in Chicago Public Schools. I graduated from the University of Rochester, where I studied Public Health, Spanish, and Math. I tutor multiple levels of math, ACT and SAT prep in Math and English, and Spanish.
My philosophy as a tutor is that students know more than they think they do. I like to guide my students through solving problems by using their prior knowledge and experience, and asking questions so that they can participate as much as I do. My favorite thing about tutoring is getting to know my students on an individual basis, and figuring out how they learn best.
In my free time, I love being with my family and friends, reading good books, dancing, and exploring the city of Chicago-my new home!
