MY PERSONAL STATEMENT
I have a degree in elementary school teaching, as well as a master's degree in reading. I have been an elementary school teacher for 4 yrs. Prior to teaching, I worked as a full time nanny during the week and a tutor on the weekends. I currently teach second grade in Chicago but have experience with students in kindergarten through 8th grade. I like to keep my classroom, as well as my tutoring sessions, student centered. I feel this approach allows the student to learn information at their own pace and in their own learning style making it "stick" with them beyond each session. I like to make my tutoring sessions fun and applicable to my students' everyday lives.
