I completed my undergraduate studies at Hunter College. After a year of struggle and confusion to find out the academic route I want to pursue, I decided on a career in medicine in my sophomore year of college. When I took a Biology class as an elective I instantly felt a sense of joy and satisfaction. I decided to take Biology as my major in college. I was highly motivated to succeed and dramatically improved my grades. In the summer of 2012, I will be starting Physician Assistant Program at Pace University.

While I tutor a variety of subjects, sciences are my favorites. Be it Biology, Chemistry, Physics or everything in between, I love tutoring these subjects and it shows in my grades and previous work experiences. I have tutored college and high school students and prepared them well for exams. I enjoyed learning science in college and want to put the knowledge I learned in class into practice by serving other students. My goal is to make my students competent problem solvers because I believe science subjects are elaborate puzzles to solve. My students learn to enjoy the process of figuring out what to do once I help them develop the confidence and skill set they need to be successful.

Also, I believe my cultural diversity helps me communicate and identity with students of different backgrounds. Being born and raised in Pakistan, living in Quebec, Canada for a while, and now living in the United States, I have experienced the similarities and differences among diverse cultural groups and geographical areas. This allowed me to relate to people from different backgrounds by understanding their ways and beliefs; a quality that has helped me work well with students.

In my free time, I love playing basketball and watching the Lakers play. I also love exercising, reading scientific journals, watching movies, listening to music and hanging out with my friends.
